Elder Jimmie Hunt

Elder Jimmie C. Hunt, Jr. declares that his spiritual gift of faith is one that is dear to his heart and one that guides his life. His favorite scriptural passage, Psalm 27, is a declaration of that immovable faith.
The elder was born in Jackson, Tennessee but later relocated to Columbus, Ohio. There he joined the Church of God and Saints of Christ in 1989. He married St. Sheri L. Hunt and has four children: Kimberly Shepard, Cameron Jeffries, Marlana Jeffries, and Whitney Hunt.
Elder Hunt attended Ohio State University majoring in business administration. He also attended Columbus State University where he took a course in real estate. He enjoys all types of sports but particularly enjoys watching football, boxing, basketball, and baseball.
Over the years, he has served in several offices in the church including that of deacon, chairman of the Trustees, and facilitator of the homeless ministry. It was in 2005 that he was officially ordained an elder. He briefly served as pastor of the tabernacle in Cleveland, OH. Currently, he is a local trustee and a member of various committees, including the Pastor’s Advisory Committee.
He desires to focus his ministry on the care of the sick and shut-in, feeding the needy, and establishing a homeless shelter.
