Elder Jehu S. Wade

Elder Jehu Samuel Wade was introduced to the service of the Lord at a very young age and developed a love for God and for worship through his childhood. He became a member of the local choir while still a youth and was appointed to the position of shepherd boy (choir steward) at the age of five. He officially joined the church when he was just ten years old.
The elder was born in Washington, DC and was raised in nearby Hyattsville, MD, however he later moved north to the New Haven, CT area where he has resided for the past twenty one years. He is united in marriage to St. Tanya V. Wade and together they share three lovely children: Tanaya, Janelle, and Jehu, Jr.
As he grew and took on the responsibilities of family life, Elder Wade also opened his ears to receive the call of the Lord in his life. He began to deeply study the word of God and to apply it in his service of others. In 2000, his zeal for God was recognized and he was ordained a deacon by Bishop Robert H. Stallings, Sr. Two years later, he was ordained into the gospel ministry attaining the office of elder. He serves the church in many capacities: as a member of the Rabbinical Staff, the Look Out and Transportation committees, as an associate minister of the New Haven tabernacle, and as Youth Pastor.
In his walk with God, Elder Wade places great importance on scriptural study. He attended and graduated from the Southern New England Bible Institute and is an instructor there. He also participates in fellowship with others in ministry. Thus he is a board member of The United Council of the Full Gospel Churches, Inc.
The elder believes his ministry is shaped by the gift of discernment which is “understanding the hearts and minds of people and their needs, relating and sharing God’s plan, His order, and purpose for our lives.” He is greatly interested in counseling, feeding the needy, initiating bible study, and forming both youth and men’s ministries to strengthen the kingdom of God.
His interests—both professional and personal—are diverse. He is sole proprietor of Prestige Property Management and is a licensed real estate agent in the state of Connecticut. Dear to his heart is time spent with his family, as well as hobbies that include traveling, singing, watching movies, and playing the sports of golf and basketball. Yet more important than any activity he takes on is this message to those who are struggling to make it through this life. The message is simple yet profound, and it originates from Philippians 4:12-13:
“Here Paul says and teaches me that in life, if you’re ever going to be any type of person with character you have to learn how to live on both sides of the fence. In good days and bad days. Disappointment and achievement. Feast and famine. Loved, liked or hated. But he encourages us that no matter what the circumstance, the key to life and the foundation of our faith is: We can do all things through Christ, who strengthens us.”
These are words to live by and the elder does just that.
