Bishop Lenton L. Stevens was born in Cleveland, Ohio and joined the Church of God and Saints of Christ at the tender age of twelve. As he matured, so did his dedication to building the kingdom of God. He served in several capacities in order to support his church. These include the offices of tabernacle shepherd, assistant chief shepherd, and deacon.

After relocating to Columbus, OH, he married Grand Mother Sarah, St. Miriam Stevens. He entered the ministry in 1993 (first as an elder then as an evangelist) and has since served as pastor of the Columbus tabernacle. He values every spiritual gift God bestows, and feels that he has been gifted with discernment. He focuses on his pastoral ministry, on counseling, prison ministry, men’s ministry, feeding the needy, bible study, and street evangelism. Also, he is a member of the Berean Fellowship, a ministerial association in the local area.

Bishop Stevens is a family man. He and his wife have been blessed with wonderful children and grandchildren: Elder Corey Hendricks, St. Cheri Hendricks, Bro. Joshua Stevens, St Jordan Hendricks, and St, Maya Hendricks. In addition, he works in the Human Resource Department of a major corporation and has worked in Payroll, as well as Recruiting and Staffing. The bishop includes indoor and outdoor sports among his special interests.

Bishop Stevens, consecrated at the 2008 Feast of the Lord’s Passover held in Seaford, Delaware, serves under Bishop Robert H. Stallings, Sr. and is also an advisor to the newly appointed Presbytery Board of the Church God and Saints of Christ. One of his favorite scriptures should guide the life of every believer. It is Philippians 3:10: “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.”
